| This position is responsible to set up, install, and secure voice and data cables of various pair counts and sizes according to industry and 3D DATACOM standards. | |
| Major Responsibilities - not all inclusive: | |
| ˇ Install work area
outlets for floors, modular furniture and walls ˇ Route cable through modular furniture ˇ Perform pre-termination procedures; organize, form, dress cables, determine length, slack & label cables ˇ Suspend & support cable correctly ˇ Build closets ˇ Install grounding for racks & equipment ˇ Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves, core penetration ˇ Identify different types of cable ˇ Differentiate & understand the difference between plenum & PVC environments ˇ Know the 4-pair and 25-pair color codes ˇ Terminate CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks ˇ Mount face plates & surface mount boxes correctly ˇ Complete connectors ˇ Perform testing |

| Minimum Requirements - not all inclusive: | |
| ˇ Must have reliable
transportation and meet 3D DATACOM driving standards ˇ High school diploma or equivalent ˇ Basic reading and writing skills ˇ Ability to move up to 75lbs., work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces ˇ Must possess all necessary tools. Hand tools: screwdriver (regular & phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose & channel locks), hammer and cable stripper. Trade Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade ˇ Ability to travel may be required |
